It is also the first time a Chinese company has made the list since Gartner first introduced the Magic Quadrant in 2018.

In the report, Gartner first clarified the differences between IIoT and traditional IoT in terms of features and functions. In Gartner's view, the focus and architecture of IIoT technology is applicable to asset-intensive industries that require OT and enterprise IT application integration, so the IIoT platform must be scalable and the integration must be secure and reliable. IIoT solutions and data analytics can accelerate asset management and reduce automation and infrastructure costs.

It is understood that the selection criteria for the Gartner Industrial Internet platform Magic Quadrant include technical functions, application areas, solutions and other aspects. Gartner launched this magic quadrant for the first time in 2018, and no domestic manufacturers were selected.

Compared with last year, although the number of selected enterprises in 2019 IIoT Magic quadrant increased to 16, and the industrial Internet platform showed a strong momentum of development, due to the complexity and particularity of the industrial field, the overall has not changed much. There are still no enterprises in the leader quadrant, and most of them are distributed in the specific field quadrant.

In addition, the biggest breakthrough was the inclusion of Chinese companies for the first time.

In terms of execution ability, Shugen Internet also ranks ahead of many old industrial software service companies, including GE Digital (Predix) and IBM, which are well-known in China. Of course, in terms of vision integrity, there is still a certain gap between Root Internet, which only operated independently in 2016, and PTC, Software AG and other enterprises, so it needs to continue to explore and improve.

In another report on Critical Capabilities, the company, which entered the Magic Quadrant for the first time, ranked in the middle with a comprehensive product score of 1.98, surpassing companies such as GE Digital and Oracle.

As a local Chinese enterprise, Shugen Internet has entered the magic quadrant of Gartner Industrial Internet platform, which means that China's industrial Internet platform has been recognized internationally and started to keep pace with the development of European and American industrial Internet platform service manufacturers.

According to Gartner, the Rootcloud platform has a great advantage in connection technology. It can support more than 400 industrial protocols, enabling a range of PLCS, CNCS, sensors, and other specialized devices to be connected to Oems.
